You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment ~
Henry David Thoreau
We spend so much time looking down. At our phones, at our feet, avoiding the eyes of others.
Absent in the moment, earphones in, screens on. We rush around mindless, seeking continuous distraction. Entertainment as escape. Cocooned in our own oneness, oblivious to the world around us, avoiding the world within us.
What if we took the time to look up? To turn off the screen, to offer a smile, to allow ourselves to be fully present in each moment. What if we embraced the world within and leaned in? What beauty would you find in all your moments? 💚
In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
A colleague of mine looked at me last week, we were discussing the concept of insight, and how it’s not always possessed by everyone. He said, “no matter what is going on in my life, or has gone on, whether amazing or catastrophic, the one constant has always been me.”

I am the constant. Through the shitstorms, and the amazeball, moments, I am the constant. And just as I am so affected by the moments, by the events, the ups, and the downs, I have the ability to affect those right back. In no way do I believe I have control over others or what may or may not happen in my life, but I have complete control over my perspectives, my perceptions, my thoughts, my feelings, and ultimately, my choices.
I am responsible. For my decisions, my actions and reactions. I am the constant.

If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there ~ Lewis Carroll
It has been far too long since I’ve heard the crunch of the trail under my feet, felt the rush of breath from my lungs, and tasted the cool, damp forest on my face. After spending all my spare hours experiencing the world from the saddle of my motorcycle, few hours were left for me to escape on this type of trail.
With my bike all tucked in for the winter, it was time to choose a trail, to listen to the wisdom in the quiet, the steadfastness of the trees, towering over and shielding from a few stray rain drops. It was time to fuel my soul in a different way, in a slow, deliberate, soft way.
With no agenda, no destination, no route, I found myself on the right path, at the perfect time. I found myself exactly where I needed to be 💚
Look closely. The beautiful may be small ~ Immanuel Kant
There is beauty in the mundane, happiness in the simplest of places, extraordinary in the ordinary.
I’m being challenged to be and stay present in the moment. To find connection in the small moments, to remember to be grateful for all the minutes. Time to dig deep, be brave and stay present.
Taking the time to look up, open my eyes and appreciate the small things 💚
Change comes from reflection ~ Genesis P-Orridge

Fall has always been a time of pause, reflection, and contemplation. As the leaves slowly change colour and eventually give up, blanketing the ground with a soft orange glow. The trees take time to pause, to determine how they will show up in the spring.
*
As the trees, I use the fall to mindfully take stock and let go of what no longer serves. Taking the time to evaluate the health of my boundaries, shedding my self-deprecating and self-limiting thoughts and beliefs, the ones rife with not good enough. Politely walking away from harmful relationships, whether those are with others or some form of escape.

Looking out at the brilliance of the changing season, it’s a time to be present, to sit with my thoughts and feelings, turning towards them, not away. It’s a time to decide what leaves I can let fall 💚🍁🍂
We do not remember days, we remember moments ~ Cesare Pavese
Life is built around the small moments, the everyday moments, the ones that sometimes feel like they are being endured. The moments that feel ordinary, mundane, routine...those are the ones that we often look back on as extraordinary.
.
Be present. Be aware 💚
